Call for CHS Global Directors & Other Key Volunteer Roles
|
CHS invites the Hotelie community to step up and volunteer on our Board of Directors, lead a project on one of our global committees, or volunteer with your local CHS Chapter. Join us in support of our humble ethos that Life Is Service! For a list of all open roles, click here. For most volunteer roles, any member of CHS can volunteer to participate. For the Global Director role, all alumni with an undergraduate or graduate degree from The Cornell Peter & Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration may be considered by the Nominating Committee. While you may nominate others, it is quite traditional and appropriate that individuals nominate themselves. So, if you are interested in this role, please speak up! The duties of the Global Board Director are strategic in nature, focused on governance, membership engagement, and long-term initiatives. It is from this Board of Directors that future Officers will be selected – notably the 2nd Vice President, who subsequently becomes the 1st Vice President and then Global President. To access the downloadable position description, please click here. By serving as a Director, one does not have to aspire to become an Officer. And we invite all interested candidates, including ones ultimately not selected by the nominating committee, to continue to volunteer and engage with CHS at the regional and chapter level. We thank you in advance for considering nominating yourself or someone you feel can contribute to the CHS mission as a future Director. If you want to nominate someone, we strongly encourage you to speak with them prior to nominating them to make sure it’s something they wish to do. Nominations for the two open Director positions will be accepted until Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 5:00 pm ET. |

Our Nominating Committee will consider all submissions and present a slate of candidates to the global Hotelie community for a vote in late September / early October. Results of the vote will be announced shortly thereafter, and new Directors will be installed at the November Annual General Meeting (the formal term starts on January 1, 2026). Please feel free to reach out to us should you have any questions. We thank you for your participation in this process and continued support of CHS. |
