
"Conversations with Alumni” – Dan Fenton ‘81
Camryn Scott ‘25 had the opportunity to interview Dan Fenton ‘81, Managing Director, Global Tourism and Destination Advisory at JLL.

I had a conversation with Dan Fenton on December 29th, just before the new year. During our insightful 30-minute discussion, I gained valuable insights into the travel and tourism industry. As the managing director of global tourism at JLL, Dan Fenton's days are a dynamic blend of meetings, emails, travel, and research, each day presenting new opportunities in the evolving landscape of the travel and tourism industry. With a focus on collaborating on large-scale tourism projects for destination marketing organizations (DMOs), his role demands a multifaceted skill set and a proactive attitude towards learning and adapting.
A typical day for Mr. Fenton might start with a series of meetings, both internal and external, where he collaborates with his Global Tourism and Destination Advisory team at JLL, as well as with clients and stakeholders in the tourism industry. These meetings could involve strategizing on ongoing projects, discussing market trends, and brainstorming innovative solutions to challenges faced by DMOs.
