CHS Georgia - 2024 Summer Pizza Party

On Wednesday, July 10, Atlanta area Hotelies gathered to enjoy pizza, drinks, and welcome current Hotel School students to town.  The event was held at the recently opened Pizza Verdura Sincera restaurant.  Our host for the evening was David Smith ’81.  David opened this plant-based, all-natural pizzeria to rave reviews in the Little Five Points neighborhood.

 

The group enjoyed a variety of pizzas, salads, and dessert.  Halfway through the event David addressed the attendees.  He described the challenges he and his business partners faced during the COVID-delayed development process, and why they decided to focus on the planted-based, all-natural concept.

 

Special guests attending the event were three current Hotelie students working at internships in Atlanta this summer.

The Cornell Hotel Society mourns the passing of Robert Cantor - Hotel ’68.Robert had strong ties to CHS, the Hotel School, and Cornell.  He married Joyce Moye Cantor – Hotel ’67, and had two children that both attended Cornell:  Ari – Hotel ’05 and Rebecca – HumEc ’97.Robert adored Dean Beck, Hotelie events, and spent time after college working at Hyatt International.  His son Ari shared the follo
