Welcome Iberian Peninsula Chapter
It is with tremendous excitement and warmth that we welcome you to what promises to be a wonderful new chapter in the Cornell Hotel Society’s global community: the launch of the CHS Iberia chapter representing Spain, Andorra, Portugal, and Morocco.
Many alumni have already expressed their enthusiasm for this new chapter, spanning cities from Barcelona and Madrid to Lisbon, Porto, and Casablanca. For too long, Hotelies across the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa have been part of a global network without a local home. That changes now.
The Cornell Hotel Society has been connecting hospitality leaders around the world for decades, and our founding group here is a testament to just how much talent exists in this region. Among our 30 members, we have Cornell graduates spanning nearly five decades, from the Class of 1977 to the Class of 2025, representing an extraordinary breadth of experience, expertise, and perspective. Hotel operators, real estate investors, educators, entrepreneurs, and senior executives: the caliber of this group is truly remarkable.
Our first event is in the works! We are planning an inaugural gathering in Barcelona. It’s a chance for us to meet in person, share stories, reconnect with old classmates, and begin building something meaningful together. Details will follow shortly, and we hope you will join us for what promises to be a memorable gathering.
In the meantime, we would love to hear from you. If you know other Cornell Hotel School graduates living in Spain, Andorra, Portugal, or Morocco who should be part of this community, please do not hesitate to pass their names along. The more the merrier! Every Hotelie in the region deserves to know there is a home for them here.
This is just the beginning. We look forward to building a community that celebrates the spirit of hospitality, fosters meaningful connections, and reflects the incredible diversity and energy of our region. The best is truly yet to come.
