First Generation Hotel School Students are Hosted in Atlanta

On August 1 and 2, 2023, Jackie Doyle, Director of Career Management for the Nolan Hotel School, arranged for a group of 15 students to travel to Atlanta to visit alumni in the hospitality, real estate and aviation industries.  The students attended as part of the Professor Vance Christian First Generation Career Exploration program - all first in their families to attend college.   The program is generously funded by Ted Teng.

This trek was made possible by the super Career Service team of Jackie Doyle, Pamela Davis-Acey, Amanda Hickey and Maggie Paciga. Amazing job of putting this together.

Thanks to the Marriott Marquis Atlanta, CBRE, Peachtree Hotel Group, Noble Investment Group, IHG, Kimpton Sylvan, Hodge Ward Elliott, Delta, and CHS Georgia for hosting the students.  A huge gratitude to Hotelie alumni Robert Mandelbaum, Ethan Gabany, Tim Dick, Jonathan Webster, Bryan Lustig, Kassie Henderson, Brian Waldman, Ashley Huang, David Mei, Tom McHugh, Zak Brodstein, Mackenzie Melikian, Michael Tormey, Xavier Bourne, Katherine Minnock, Dillon Potter, Bo Z., and Rani Bernstein, all of whom shared their valuable insights with the students.

During the Tuesday night reception atop the Kimpton Sylvan hotel, Jolyon Bulley, the new America’s President of IHG, joined the group and was very complimentary of all the Hotelies he has worked with over the years.
